About Me

Kyle Onciul, Principal Consultant

For over 20 years I have worked in technical IT roles in the energy and retail industries and both in Canada and the UK.

My journey into information technology began as a Technical Specialist working on the development team for software training solutions delivered to industry professionals around the globe.

I then studied Network Administration and became fascinated with networking communications technologies and further developed my skills in Systems Administration, designing and supporting a Windows Server network infrastructure for a growing services company with a global presence.

I have spent several years in my career as an IT Manager responsible for IT infrastructure supporting businesses in both the energy and retail sectors. I have carried out IT consultancy services developing solutions for business, evaluating various product technologies and managing new technology implementations.

I am a professional member of BCS (MBCS) with the Chartered Institute of IT. I have achieved widely recognized certifications from Microsoft to complement my growing knowledge and experience working with the product set and combined this with vendor-agnostic certifications through CompTIA and Axelos. I follow best practice principles set out by ITIL, PRINCE2 and COBIT and keep my skills current with the latest revisions.

My experience includes working on a large number of projects involving IT infrastructure and application implementations and refreshes, network migrations and the development of new solutions improving productivity and operations.

I have an excellent understanding of business analysis techniques and requirements for supporting the deployment of complex applications while ensuring that all stakeholder needs and business processes are defined and considered throughout the development, test and release processes.

I’m based on the west coast of Canada on Vancouver Island surrounded by the stunning coastal mountains and Pacific Ocean. I’m passionate about achieving results with the use of technology, and equally passionate about the natural places around us.
